About Hypebooks

Hypebooks is the US's first and only one stop shop for coffee table books from all the major publishers. We also discuss, style, and think about them all day.

Hypebooks carries books that cover major cultural moments, and we have something for everyone--whether you're a hypebeast, a gamer, a yogi, a witch, a fashion lover, a sports fanatic, or a total nerd, we've got a book that says something about you.

Hypebooks was founded by Aya Harcsztark, who spent years in luxury publishing. She watched how passionate people looking for gorgeous books are glanced over by the massive book industry. From there she developed Hypebooks' Principles.

Hypebooks' Principles

Our books are more than just...books.

To own and display a coffee table book is a declaration of who you are and what you care about. While much of what we display in are homes are self-expressive, these books typically make a statement front and center (literally in the center of conversations with guests sitting on your sofa around a coffee table, maybe). They have the power to reveal as much about your personality and identity as any other luxury item can, whether it’s a piece of clothing, a work of art, a watch, or a car.

We do not consider these books to be just “books”. They are more akin to home accessories, beautifying your space just as a piece of art on the wall or special vase does, again as a tool for self-expression. Which is why…

We definitely DO judge all the books we carry, recommend and review by their covers. That’s the point of these babies. Everyone who pretends they don’t judge these by their covers is either a snob or in self-denial. They are an art object in your house first and foremost.

The best coffee table books are ones that speak for a group with a shared interest, shared love for an industry, or movement. That's because the power of these books are in their ability to be a tool for self-expression. Our book collections revolve around interest communities, first and foremost. Drop us a note if you have a passion or hobby and want to see books that reflect you.
